Track DescriptionThis is the 10 minute long theme track of the intense retro arcade game Decimation X by Xona Games (www.decimationx.com). This track features a huge mix of styles including trance beats, break beats, calm sections and all of this with a retro twist.DetailsXona Games contacted me as they were in the process of creating a new intense retro arcade named Decimation X. The request was a ten minute long intense electronic track with various moods to keep the player interested. It sounded like a great challange and with a very short timeframe I started to come up with a main melody just just before Christmas 2009. After a few days and a couple of tweaks to make it fit the game properly it was finished and rather than releasing it under Imphenzia Soundtrack it sounded enough like a normal Imphenzia track to release it officially as "Theme of Decimation X".Since the launch of the game it rocketed to #1 on Xbox Live in Japan and it received great reviews. So what about the track itself? It intentionally starts off rather aggressively with a break beat and sweeping and filtered analogue leads to throw the player directly into the intense game play. As it is a retro styled game it was important for me to include classic arpeggiated chip style sounds and other old school leads. As the game only features this one track (apart from a slightly modified version for the menu) it was important that it changed in character enough to keep the interest level up and for the player to wonder what would come next. Intense and calm sections are altered with about a minute of playtime each for the entire 10 minutes. If you happen to be in the game making music and you like this theme, please don't hesitate to contact me or visit Imphenzia Soundtrack for more information.
